About MailDay

Short — 36 words

MailDay™ is a pen pal membership for kids ages 3–12. Every member is matched with a real pen pal and gets monthly letter-writing adventures in the mail from a fox named Poppy Post.

Long — 92 words

MailDay is a pen pal membership that matches kids ages 3–12 with a real pen pal and mails them monthly letter-writing adventures from a fox named Poppy Post. Each month brings something to open, something to write, and someone waiting to write back — so a kid has a reason to check the mailbox and a friend who actually knows them. MailDay was founded in 2026 by Courtney Lazar, a homeschooling mom of three in Wyoming, and ships to members nationwide.

Courtney Lazar

Founder, MailDay

Courtney Lazar is the founder of MailDay, a pen pal membership that matches kids ages 3–12 with a real pen pal and mails them monthly letter-writing adventures from a fox named Poppy Post.

A homeschooling mom of three in Wyoming with a background in business operations and systems, Courtney built MailDay after watching a TikTok comment section fill up with strangers trying to find a pen pal for a lonely little girl — and realizing there was no good way to actually make it happen. So she made one.

Her whole idea is a quiet argument: that kids today are more connected than any generation in history and known by fewer people than they should be, and that the fix isn't a screen rule — it's putting something real in a kid's hands. A real friend, a real letter, and a reason to check the mailbox.

Courtney shares the build at @heycourtneylazar and runs MailDay at @joinmailday.
